Fedwire Migration to ISO 20022: Preparing for 14th July 2025

Financial institutions are now in the final stretch of preparing for the same-day Fedwire migration to ISO 20022, slated for July 14, 2025—a revised deadline from the earlier March 10, 2025. This extension was granted to give institutions and vendors additional time to ensure a smooth and fully prepared transition.

With this change, the current Fedwire Application Interface Manual (FAIM) format will be officially retired. In its place, ISO 20022 messages will become the new standard for all Fedwire transactions.
